Lectures, Group Works, and Practical Exercises – Europass Teacher Academy Spent Two Weeks in Kokoustila Punavuori

Europass Teacher Academy, which organizes continuing education for teaching staff, has been one of Osaamistehdas's longest-standing clients. Operating across Europe, Europass serves teachers at various educational levels, from early childhood education to adult and language training. In summer 2023, Europass arrived at Kokoustila Punavuori for two weeks, organizing training for two different international groups of teachers. We interviewed Mirjami Junnikkala, owner and course director of Europass Teacher Academy Finland Oy, and trainer Mia Torttila, about the Osaamistehdas premises.

For what kind of event have you used the meeting room?

Mia and Mirjami: In the first week, we organized a course on special education, special needs education, and inclusivity. In the second week, a new group arrived to learn about well-being in the Finnish school system. Both courses have had groups of well over 10 international teachers. The courses included lectures, video presentations, practical exercises, and group assignments.

How has Kokoustila Punavuori served the purpose of your courses?

Mia: Absolutely wonderfully! We have previously rented Osaamistehdas's premises for our courses for longer periods. However, I enjoy Kokoustila Punavuori the most. This meeting room has a lovely amount of space. I like the carpet and how it softens the sound. I also like the meeting room's windows, which are nice to keep open sometimes during the summer. The space is functional even for larger groups, as there is room to move around and do group assignments. The technology has also worked well.

Mirjami: We have enjoyed the space very much. The room has been large enough for the course size; it has accommodated various activities and team-building effectively. The basic equipment of the space is in order! We also appreciated having a break room with a kitchen connected to the space.

Would you recommend Kokoustila Punavuori and Osaamistehdas's service to other organizations?

Mia: I would recommend it! And I would particularly recommend Kokoustila Punavuori, as it is a pleasant and comfortable space. The layout of the meeting room can be customized as desired. Punavuori is also a convenient location – everything is close by.
